The Technical Institute is looking to recruit a Sports Scientist to work throughout the Institute with 9-18 year olds and also with the WPSL Team (Adult Women’s Team). The success applicant will be an integral part of a growing sport science team and will help to deliver the sport science provision across all ages within the Institute with primary focus on the youth development phase (U9-U18) and the WPSL Team (Adult - May-July). TTi is looking for an individual who is highly motivated and passionate about working with and developing youth soccer players. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive scientific knowledge base with an understanding of how to apply that knowledge practically through the youth development age groups.
Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Sport & Exercise Science and preferably proven experience of working with elite junior soccer players. A strength and conditioning accreditation would also be advantageous, but not essential. This is a part-time role, (3-4 Nights per week plus external hours for data collection/delivery to Institute members) which will include working outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends and during public holidays. During the WPSL Season the successful candidate would be expected to work with the WPSL players role will primarily be based at the TTi Training Facility @ The Regis School 7330 Westview Drive, Houston TX

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
An undergraduate degree in Sport Science, specializing in the area of physical preparation of elite athletes.
Proven experience in the provision of physiological support to elite athletes and coaches.
Experience of working within an inter-disciplinary team in the delivery of physiological support in high performance sport, specifically soccer.
Ability to analyze the physiological needs of youth footballers.
Experience of modifying physiological programs according to results of
Experience of laboratory and field-testing of elite athletes.
Ability to coach soccer out side of sports science needs
An understanding of the needs of youth athletes and coaches in high
Ability to scientifically validate the methodology of test protocols and other
relevant scientific data.
Post graduate degree specializing in the physical preparation of elite athletes (or working towards)
Experience of strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of physiological support to elite youth football players.
Experience of working with 8-18 year olds
Experience working with college and adult players
Experience of working in an injury prevention and rehabilitation environment
Experience in the delivery of position-specific on field conditioning to elite
Knowledge of youth soccer landscape in South Texas including club and high
Knowledge of the WPSL Player
Knowledge of operating Activio Systems
Anatomical knowledge in particular with regard to the effect of growth and
maturation on anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of different training methodologies.
At this time TTi the role is limited to Green Card Holders, US CItizens and Visa Holders that permit the holder to work in the USA. TTi cannot currently support visas from outside of the USA.
Additional Salary Information: Salary From: $12,000 Salary To: $18,000
(Salary negotiable depending on experience and available time for role)
The Technical Institute is a supplemental to club soccer program that is a fully integrated program serving players from 4 Years-Adult Players in the Houston Metro Area.
