A deep passion and love for the sport of soccer, along with a desire to give opportunities to young people, drove George Altirs to form Cedar Stars Academy (CSA) in 2011.
CSA began as a small ambitious club focused on providing the very best coaching, facilities and support to families and players that might not otherwise have an opportunity. The club would quickly find success on and off th...e field, expanding, growing and opening its doors to all of Bergen County, Northern New Jersey and New York. Players from all over the tri-state area now travel to Cedar Stars Academy knowing they will be treated with respect and given every opportunity to succeed in the sport, while simultaneously learning valuable life lessons along the way.
As CSA grew, its reputation followed, and the Academy eventually established itself as one of the premier clubs in the tri-state area. The result of this reputation for developing quality soccer players, producing high level teams, and professional coaching was admission into the prestigious United States Soccer Federation Development Academy in 2014. The Development Academy, which is run and monitored by U.S. Soccer, is a platform that puts the most talented teams and players on display for the Youth National Team Program and U.S. Soccer.
It was also in 2014 when CSA first opened the door of its additional division, CSA Newark, which is established in partnership with St. Benedict's Prep School, offering its services to players from Newark and its neighboring communities.
In 2013, CSA had already expanded its reach to central New Jersey by merging with NJSA 04 and forming the New Jersey Cedars Stars Academy - NJCSA, which is led by renowned U20 National Team coach and former US National Player, Tab Ramos.
With all of its success, CSA remains focused on providing the best opportunities to young players in the community. The club is determined to help each individual reach their personal goals, while nurturing the love and passion for the game that it was founded on.
