Cincinnati United Soccer Club is the fastest growing and most competitive club in the tristate area of Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana. We are actively pursuing 2 highly qualified leaders for the roles of CUP Director of Coaching (DOC) and Lead Coach within the US Soccer Development Academy. This posting is specifically for the DOC position.
CUP DOC Job Overview:
Boys Director of Coaching for Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) Boys Program U11-U19. This position requires leading the already successful and nationally recognized CUP boys program. Candidates should be connected with the college game, preferably with programs in the Midwest region and have a strong grasp on the college recruiting process. Candidates should additionally have Regional League, and equivalent level tournament experience, at a minimum, as well as a strong history in developing the elite level soccer player. Beyond qualifications, the CUP DOC must be a confident and positive leader of coaching staff and players who will work heavily with the Development Academy staff in continuously developing both programs in conjunction with the Academy Director.
Primary Duties: Reports to the Technical Director, Executive Director, and President
Director of Coaching Leader amongst the 18-20 coaching staff, working with all leadership within CU, CUP and the Development Academy to provide the best overall soccer experience in our market and beyond
Head Coach It is likely that the CUP DOC will lead 1 HS aged team (November-USYS Nationals)
Academy Staff Coach It is expected that the CUP DOC will assist within the Development Academy program in weekly meetings, training, matches and showcases
Planning Minimum of 9 hours/week office time with Academy staff & Technical Director
Staff Selection & Retention Recruit, assign and maintain high level coaching Staff for all teams
CUP Player Selection Lead team trials (early June & November). Curriculum and staffing for sessions/evaluations
Facilities Planning of indoor/outdoor training facilities, budget and scheduling for all CUP boys teams in conjunction with CUP Administrator
College Recruiting Continue to grow and build on the college recruiting network already established for CUP players
PDP Design and manage a personal development plan for yourself
Culture Adhere to all established Development Academy and CUP processes and protocols, as well as helping to improve both processes and protocols for continued growth within the program based on own experiences. Continue to improve upon the current CUP Boys environment including but not limited to training atmosphere, club culture, and facilities
Philosophy Ensure that U.S. Soccer, CUP DA and primarily CUP specific player development philosophy is being implemented within all aspects of the Boys CUP program
Club Development / CU Staff Development Create and coordinate a club-wide player development model from U8 to U11 with Executive Director, Technical Director and the other CU DOC’S
Club Relations Building on current positive relationships with other area and regional clubs
Club non-DA Connection Contribute to the other sporting and professional moments within Cincinnati United Soccer Club (convention, camps, courses, events, meetings, media, etc.) as assigned as by the Executive Director
PUMA Work within any current and potential soccer specific programming within our PUMA club relationships
Boys 2018/19 Competitions Overview: CUP has 28 total boys teams participating in the following competitions
USYS National League U17, U18, U19
USYS National League GLC Regional Premier Divisions U16, U17, U18, U19
US Club Midwest Developmental League U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U19
Ohio South State League U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18
Buckeye League (Local) U11, U12, U13, U14, U15
Development Academy U12, U13, U14, U15

Track record of developing individual players to a College Division I program
Prior experience coaching at the relevant age level within a top club
Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize work
Strong in organizational skills and communication in front of groups (membership & coaches)
Excellent on the computer with various platforms both in business (PowerPoint, etc.) and soccer specific (session planning) with the ability to integrate this information into training and match preparation as well as individual player development
USSF A-youth license
Strong club and/or business leadership experience
USYS/US Club/DA National Level Event coaching experience
Elite Futsal teaching and methodologies
